Caliber is a venture under Bain's talent ventures umbrella
Caliber is currently operational in 5 pilot geographies: the US, the UK, Germany, France and the Middle East; we have some coverage in other geographies, so it’s always worth checking with us!
Caliber helps both Bain and non-Bain clients to source exceptional freelance talent. All of our candidates are trusted Bain alumni. Our most common requests include:
Transformation implementation
Post-acquisition support
Interim critical roles: e.g., interim Chief of Staff, interim Strategy Director, interim Chief Transformation Officer
Strategic support
No, Caliber helps both Bain and non-Bain clients from all industries to source talent to meet their needs.
The business request process is straight forward. As a client looking for a resource, you just need to fill out the form on the "Request talent" page of our website. From there, we will contact you via e-mail with the profiles that could be a good fit for your request and guide you through the next steps.
Based on your feedback, we will reach out to the candidates to confirm interest / availability & any other additional details on relevant experience required for the role. We will then need you to sign the Caliber agreement before we are able to share names / unblinded CVs and coordinate any interviews with the candidates.
Caliber bills an introduction fee to the client on top of the contractor’s daily rate.
A separate contract is signed between Bain and the client for Caliber services.
A SoW is signed between the contractor and client directly, independent of Bain.
Caliber invoices the client directly for introduction fees.
The onboarding process is super simple! Fill out the form on the Join as a freelancer page of our website and wait for a confirmation email. From there, we will contact you when opportunities that fit your profile come up.
Absolutely! Just direct them to the form on our website. For now, we are only accepting Bain alumni into the network.
The selection process is done in coordination with local teams (leadership, HR) and the Global Alumni team. We confirm candidates’ eligibility, vet their prior performance and departure condition from Bain, and review their current CV
Results Talent Network (RTN) is a network of independent functional experts and implementation specialists who augment Bain case teams and other pools of Bain resources globally. By signing up for Caliber, you are also enrolled in the RTN network if your profile is relevant - but feel free to let us know if you don't want to do RTN projects, and we can remove you from that network.
Currently Caliber does not have an online interface for our community, but that is in the pipeline.
No action is required on your part -- once we receive a request, our team identifies the top candidates for the role based on the information provided to us in your introductory form answers and CV.
Our Caliber community gets access to exclusive trainings sessions and local social events geared towards connecting with other freelancers.
Yes! You can remain a member of the Caliber network and can either let us know that you'll be inactive for a period of time or reduce your availability. While most clients look for someone with 100% availability to fill roles, there are some opportunities that only require a partial commitment.
Once you are in the network, no further action is needed on your part until we reach out with an opportunity. From there, you can let us know if you're interested in moving forward with the role, and we will confirm with the client. At that point, the client will schedule an interview and begin their hiring process with you. Caliber will facilitate the process, but ultimately any negotiations around rate and timing will be up to you and the client to determine.
From end to end, the process -- from initial notification of the opportunity, to signing a contract with the client-- usually takes about 1-2 weeks, but that can vary depending on the request.
Caliber bills an introduction fee to the client on top of your earnings -- what you earn is the rate you set!
